Equinox interconnect cables

Our original Alpha system consists of the following:

  • Turntable: Audiomeca J-1 with SL-5 tone arm, Goldring Excel MC pickup
  • Phono preamp: Audiomat Phono-1.5
  • Universal player: Linn Unidisk 1.1
  • CD transport: CEC TL51X
  • D/A converter: Counterpoint DA-10A, with Ultra-Analog Jaccard and HDCD option
  • Preamplifier: Copland CTA-305 tube preamp
  • Power amplifier: Simaudio Moon W-5LE
  • Loudspeakers: Living Voice Avatar OBX-R
  • Interconnects: Pierre Gabriel ML-1, Atlas Navigator All-Cu
  • Digital cable: Atlas Opus All-Cu, 1.5m
  • AC line filters: Inouye SPLC, Foundation Research LC-2
  • Power cords: GutWire, Wireworld Aurora

The main system is in a relatively small room (which shrank dramatically after we added the acoustical treatment). We have since created a second system, code-named Omega, which is used to test loudspeakers and other components too large for our normal room:

  • Turntable: Linn LP12, Alphason HR-100S MCS tone arm, London Reference pickup
  • Phono preamp: Audiomat Phono-1.5
  • CD/SACD player: Linn Unidisk 1.1
  • Portable digital player: Apple iPod, 60 Gb
  • Preamplifier: SimAudio Moon P-8
  • Power amplifier: SimAudio Moon W-8
  • Loudspeakers: Reference 3a Suprema II
  • Interconnects: Pierre Gabriel ML-1, Atlas Navigator All-Cu
  • Loudspeaker cables: Pierre Gabriel ML-1 for most of the range, Wireworld Polaris (subwoofers)
  • AC line filters: Foundation Research LC-1 (2), GutWire MaxCon Squared
  • AC power cords: BIS Audio Maestro, Wireworld
  • Acoustical treatment: Gershman Acoustic Art panels

The third system, code-named Kappa, is our home theatre installation.

  • DVD players: Simaudio Moon Stellar, Sony BDPS300 Blu-Ray
