Shipping costs at The Audiophile Store

IMPORTANT: the shipping costs shown here apply only to recordings and audio accessories from The Audiophile Store. They do not apply to magazines, books and subscriptions.

Shipping cost at The Audiophile Store is based on the pretax value, in Canadian dollars, of the total order. The shipping cost is also calculated in Canadian dollars. Don't include the amount of any sales taxes for the calculated value. On the other hand, in Canada shipping costs are subject to salex tax, like everything else.

EXAMPLE 1: You live in California and are ordering a CD that costs $29.50 (Canadian). As you can see from the chart, the shipping cost is 10% of the value, which makes a total of $32.45 Canadian. If you order with a credit card, the amount will be translated on your bank statement to about US$22, depending on currency fluctuations that day.

EXAMPLE 2: You live in Palermo, and you are ordering a cable with a price of $125 Canadian. Because the cost is more than $60.01, the chart above shows the shipping charge as 10% of the value. So the total will be $137.50. If you pay with a credit card, that will be translated on your bank statement to about 86 Euro, depending on currency fluctuations.

EXAMPLE 3: You live in Calgary and are ordering a CD worth $29.50. The chart shows a shipping charge of %, or $2.07, for a total of $31.57. Add $1.89 GST (6% of $31.57) and the total comes to $33.46.

EXAMPLE 4: You live in Moncton and are ordering a Finyl kit at $40. The chart above shows that there is a 5% shipping charge, or $2. Add $5.88 HST (14% of $42), and you have a total of $47.88.

EXAMPLE 5: You live in Trois-Rivières and you want two CDs at $29.50 each. Since the total cost is $59, the chart above shows that shipping is 5%, or $2.95. Add $3.72 GST (6% of $61.95), and add another $4.65 TVQ (7.5% of $65.67). That brings the total to $70.32.

EXAMPLE 6: You live in Vancouver and you are ordering a collection of Superspikes costing a total of $375. The chart indicates that shipping is free. You add only 6% GST.

HOW WE SHIP
In Canada, we send by air mail for small packages. Larger packages are sent by Expedited Mail, a special service of Canada Post. For an extra amount we can also ship via Xpresspost or even Priority Mail.

To the US, we use air mail or Expedited Mail-USA, depending on the value of the shipment.

To other countries, we use air parcel post or Xpresspost International.
